After passing my MSc in Oceanography with merit at the Univeristy of Southampton, I am exited to now work at the MBA as a Data Research Assistant, for the European-funded DTO-BioFlow project, focussing on biological traits of the benthic fauna of the North Sea and how they constribute to Ecosystem Services.
I have prior research experience in Biosystematics (MRes) and Coral Reef Palaeontology (of the Indo-West Pacific; MPhil) both studied in part at the NHM, London and Jellyfish Systematics (of the UK and New Zealand; unpublished) at the University of Southampton.
I am a Fellow of the Geological Society and a member of the Systematics Association and the Marine Biological Association.
I hope to be able to continue my scientific career in the marine sector, with a personal aim of eventually moving to Scotland for this.
Away from work I like to spend time with my dogs, participate in conservation volunteering, I am a gamer, I enjoy kayaking when I get the chance, and am a licenced level 2 powerboat handler. I am also a proponent of creating as little waste as possible, so I shop at car boot sales, use freecycling/second hand apps and occasionally attend auctions.
