I am a marine biologist/marine social scientist with a background in marine research and consultancy from both the academic and commercial fields. The issues surrounding inshore and offshore marine industries such as marine renewables, aquaculture and fisheries are of most interest to me, specifically how national and international policies are applied to human marine-related activities and how they can be managed effectively and sustainably. In addition, I am interested in the relationships between the marine industries mentioned above, and local communities. All of my interests have been demonstrated by the specific national and international research projects I have undertaken and scientific papers I have published.

My time at the MBA will be spent working on the MarLIN project, which provides information to support marine conservation, management and planning in the UK. This will be achieved by contributing to the MarESA sensitivity assessment approach, mainly through literature reviews and sensitivity assessments of circa 36 pressures on marine habitats and their components species.
