Research collaborators from Portugal visit the MBA to analyse shark tagging data

The Marine Biological Association (MBA) welcomed scientists from Universidade do Porto in Portugal to meet with the Sims Lab team and discuss the results of a recent shark tagging expedition.

Dr Nuno Queiroz, Head of Movement Ecology Group at CIBIO (Centro de Investigação em Biodiversidade e Recursos Genéticos) and Tiago Cidade, PhD Student, CIBIO, visited the MBA from 24 October to 1 November 2023.

The visiting researchers are collaborators in Professor David Sims’ ERC OCEAN DEOXYFISH project and were invited to the MBA to analyse data and discuss results arising from the recent shark tagging cruise that took place in the eastern tropical Atlantic oxygen minimum zone (OMZ) off west Africa.
