I am a PhD student within the iCPR group, jointly funded by the MBA and the University of Plymouth. My project aims to utilise AI in the real time taxonomic identification of plankton images from a range of sources. Plankton images derived using both in-situ and ex-situ methodologies will be used in the creation of a merged digital image library that may be used to train deep learning models in object identification and classification.

Prior to this I carried out an MRes at the MBA, with a focus in implementing machine learning techniques in the distribution modelling of invasive marine species.
