Kesella Scott-Somme
Kesella is a Research Assistant on the Darwin Tree of Life project. Kes has an undergraduate degree in Marine Biology from Portsmouth University, where she focused on the taxonomy and ecology of UK caprellids. She then graduated from UCL with a masters in aquatic science, and went on to work as an aquatic scientist in consultancy, focusing on freshwater macroinvertebrates and fish. After this she worked for two years at Earthwatch Europe, mainly on their water quality monitoring programme FreshWater Watch. She was additionally involved in the NERC Future of our Seas (FOOS) project as an early career researcher, with UpRising London on their Environmental Leadership course, with UCL conservation society as a co-founder and with the Horniman Museum on Project Coral.
