Poppy Diver

Poppy is a PhD student in the Cunliffe Group on the INSPIRE DTP joint between the MBA, the National Oceanography Centre and the University of Southampton. Her project aims to integrate marine fungi into the structure and function of pelagic ecosystems. She will analyse the allometry and biomolecule production of marine fungi and draw comparisons with other functionally related plankton groups.

Her previous research focussed on the influence of trace metals on marine ammonia oxidation as part of the OceanBug group at Oxford University, initially as a 4th year MEarthSci student and subsequently as a research assistant on the APPELS (A Probe of the Periodic Elements for Life in the Sea) project.
