Theo Hembury

Theo graduated with a BSc in Biological Sciences (Kingston University), researching the genes involved in outer-membrane lipoprotein production in Neisseria meningitidis. Shortly after graduating, he volunteered at the Animal and Plant Health Agency where he assisted on a project investigating Hepatitis-E in porcine stool samples. Theo has recently finished his MSc on Microbiomes at King’s College London where his research investigated bacterial growth and interaction in oral biofilms, and is currently performing new methods of gene editing on diatoms to further understand the function of genes within the diatom genome and their potential role in survival.
