Short Course: An Introduction to Whale & Dolphin Biology And Conservation

Weekend 24 June - 25 June 2017 @The Citadel Hill Laboratory, Plymouth.

Whales and dolphins have an astonishing variety of behaviors and adaptations to survive and thrive in the marine environment. This course is made up of a series of talks over two days ranging from whale and dolphin evolution and diversity, to behaviour and adaptations, to the history of whaling and current conservation problems for these animals.

Course tutor Dr Chris Parsons has been involved in whale and dolphin research for over a decade and has conducted projects on every continent. He has published over 140 scientific papers, book chapters and reports and has written a book on marine mammal biology & conservation, which accompanies the course.

This promises to be a hugely informative and enjoyable short course.
