The 2017 Marine Biological Association, North Devon Coast AONB and Coastwise North Devon BioBlitz is over, but what fun we had! The event took place at Lee Bay (North Devon) from 10:30 am on Friday 22nd September until 3 pm on Saturday 23rd September and covered all sorts of habitats, including: woodland, offshore, freshwater, inter-tidal and grasslands.

Over the course of 24+ hours, we timetabled 12 different public-participation activities, from rock pool rambles to woodland walks, stream dipping to mini-beast safaris. With the help of 100’s of students, volunteers, experts and members of the public we managed to identify over 500 species in 24 hours, with a lot more records still to add.

We would just like to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who came along to the event and helped to make it such a success! Also, if anyone has any records or unidentified species don't forget to send them over to the MBA!

The Lee Bay BioBlitz was made possible by funding from Heritage Lottery Fund and Fullabrook CIC to whom we are very grateful.
