Plymouth Marine Science and Education Foundation (PlyMSEF) provides travel grants to enable research students to attend academic conferences and symposia or to attend advanced training courses or workshops in marine disciplines.
For 2019, up to 8 awards, to the value of £400 will be available in a competition process for applicants who meet the criteria as follows:
i) Applicants must be registered PhD students or postgraduate scientists within 4 years of graduation employed in marine-related research projects at one of the following institutions
- DDRC Healthcare
- Marine Biological Association of the UK
- National Marine Aquarium
- Plymouth Marine Laboratory
- Plymouth University Marine Institute
ii) Applications must be supported in writing by the applicant's supervisor
iii) The conference, symposia etc for which the grant is requested must take place after Monday 5th February 2019
Successful applicants must produce short reports within two weeks of the events and be prepared to give an oral presentation at the annual student conference
