Key Features

  • Ribbon-like leafy fronds.
  • Flattened cone shaped holdfast.
  • Flattened main stem alternates giving a zigzag appearance.
  • Some branches have pod-shaped bladders
  • Olive brown in colour when young, getting darker when older.

Where to look:

Middle and lower shore.
