Glen Wheeler
Glen is a molecular cell biologist studying the physiology of marine phytoplankton and other algae. His group examines the mechanisms through which algae sense and respond to their environment, using advanced imaging techniques to visualise these processes in single cells. A particular focus is the cell biology of coccolithophores, a group of calcifying marine phytoplankton that make an important contribution to global carbon cycling. Other interests include the study of the evolution of algal metabolism and signalling processes.
