We are looking for a part-time (0.5 post), Training Development Officer to develop and promote our training course events programme and training facilities. The Officer will be based at the Citadel Hill Laboratory in Plymouth.
The MBA is a Learned Society that runs a research laboratory in Plymouth. Recognised by Royal Charter, the MBA is the body for the marine biologists in the UK and globally. The MBA is developing a growing portfolio of training courses and CPD events for professional marine biologists, as well as introductory training for anyone with an interest in the subject.
As well as a programme of MBA led activities, the Laboratory is home to excellent teaching facilities, including a research vessel and seawater laboratory and is in a prime location to host marine biological training events.
The Training Development Officer would be responsible for working with colleagues to develop and advance the range of courses offered by the Association and also explore ways of encouraging further external use of facilities.
Scope of role: The proposal is for a dedicated 0.5 position to support the Training Course and Facilities Manager and help develop the Marine Biological Association’s training and events through targeted marketing, promotion and establishing good process and practice.
