Marine Genomics
The MBA is a partner in the EU Network of Excellence “Marine Genomics”. Our role in this network is to study the function of key signalling genes in marine algae. For our initial model we will use the Fucus embryo system. In collaboration with the Station Biologique, Roscoff, France we are developing techniques for the manipulation of gene expression in embryos. In combination with electrophysiology and imaging we will investigate the roles of key signalling genes in relation to polarization and environmental responses.
