
Charles Darwin was born on 12th February 1809. 2009 marked the 200th anniversary of his birth. He published the ground-breaking ‘On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection’ in 1859. His most influential voyage of discovery onboard the HMS ‘Beagle’ set sail from Plymouth on 27th December 1831.
