Metadata catalogue description

The MECN metadata catalogue contains information relating to all the long-term time series being maintained by MECN partners around the UK . The catalogue is regularly updated as new partners are added to the network. The MECN coordinator based at the Marine Biological Association of the United Kingdom is responsible for the maintenance of this catalogue. Any queries regarding the catalogue should therefore be sent to the coordinator Dr Matthew Frost at mecn@mba.ac.uk.

Searching the metadata catalogue

A search of the metadata catalogue can be performed a number of ways. Firstly, the parameter of interest (e.g. salinity, temperature, nitrate) can be used to find records. Secondly, a search can be carried out based on who contributed the information. This can be an organisation (e.g. Marine Biological Association, Fisheries Research Service) or an individual if known (surname and / or forename). The final way to carry out a search is through use of a keyword.

The output from the search consists of any time-series that are identified by the search criteria. The time series can then be selected in order to show full details of the time series along with contact information.
