A Bioblitz is a biological survey of an area involving experts and members of the public, generally lasting 24 hours. Following on from past successful Bioblitz events the MBA is delighted to announce this year’s Bioblitz and invite members of the public and amateur naturalists to join us.
This exciting event is free and open to all! It will incorporate the twin villages of Kingsand and Cawsand and surrounding coastal and marine habitats, as well as open coastal scrub, woodland and hopefully some freshwater. There will be the usual opportunities for everyone to get involved. Last year the MBA and partners found 997 different species at Mt Edgcumbe on land and in the sea, and we are throwing down the challenge to find over 1,000 species in 2012!
